The Yellow Canaries took to the training ground on Sunday, as they continued preparations for this weekend's Turkcell Süper Lig home fixture against Eskişehirspor. Chilean midfielder Claudio Maldonado, who took a knock in training last week, resumed practice on Sunday. Meanwhile, coach Luis Aragones was to travel to Spain on Monday to take part in an awards ceremony.
Sunday evening's practice at the Samandıra Training Facilities began at 18:00 (6 PM) with coach Luis Aragones' team talk on centre pitch. Then his assistant Carlos Cascallana warmed up the players in the squad with some running and coordination drills.
The Yellow Canaries then had a scrimmage match and ended the practice session with stretching exercises. As Fenerbahçe was missing several key players who were away on national duty, two more youngsters from the reserve team joined goalkeepers Ertuğrul Taşkıran and Alper Piliç as they all trained with the professional team.
Fenerbahçe reserve team coordinator Şenol Çorlu also kept track of his players' work, on the sidelines. Meanwhile injured player Claudio Maldonado returned back to the training ground, as the Chilean defensive midfielder jogged around the field under coach Carlos Cascallana's supervision. He also briefly took part in the second half of the scrimmage match.
Fenerbahçe players took a day off from training on Monday. The Yellow Canaries manager was to travel to Madrid on Monday, where the Spanish Royal Family were going to honour Luis Aragones and the Spanish National Football Team for their success in last summer's Euro 2008 finals. Aragones is to report back to Istanbul on Tuesday.
