The Yellow Canaries returned back to the training ground, five days after last Friday's 2-1 league loss against Bursaspor. Everyone in the squad was present on Thursday's practice, excluding players away on national duty, as preparations began for the next TSL fixture; Fenerbahçe will host Eskişehirspor at the Şükrü Saraçoğlu on Sunday, April 5th.
Thursday's practice at the Samandıra Training Facilities began at 18:30 (6:30 PM) with warm-ups conducted by coach Carlos Cascallana. The players then continued the training session with coordination drills and stretching exercises. Fenerbahçe were missing several key players who were away on national duty, as the World Cup qualifiers kick-in this week.
Meanwhile, the Yellow Canaries present for duty in Istanbul completed Thursday afternoon's practice with a light tempo practice match supervised by assistant coach Cesar Mendiondo. Fener boss Luis Aragones did not take part in Thursday's practice due to his wife's illness.
Also Brazilian players Roberto Carlos and Edu Dracena were absent in today's training. Both players were reported to have had Aragones' permission and are expected to resume practice in tomorrow evening's training session.
Captain Alex de Souza and youngster Abdülkadir Kayalı, who both have slight injuries, practiced together under physiotherapist Dolu Arslan's supervision. Meanwhile, as Volkan Demirel, Volkan Babacan and Mert Günok were all away on national duty goalkeeper coach Angel Ferez trained youngsters Ertuğrul Taşkıran and Alper Piliç, from the reserves team.
Fenerbahçe will continue training for next Sunday's Eskişehirspor match with a double practice on Friday.
