After giving a one day break, the Yellow Canaries were back on the training ground on Monday morning to continue preparations for the upcoming Turkcell Süper Lig fixture against Bursaspor. Goalkeeper Volkan Demirel and Deivid de Souza resumed training on Monday after having missed practice for most of the last week.
Monday morning's practice at the Samandıra Training Facilities began at 11:00 AM and lasted for about one and a half hours. At the beginning of the training session, coach Carlos Cascallana warmed-up the players in the squad with some jogging drills.
Then the Yellow Canaries squad divided up into three groups. While one group was practicing stationing drills, the other groups were practicing ball stealing and conducting running drills. All three groups practiced these drills in turns and then ended the practice session with stretching exercises.
Injured players Volkan Demirel and Deivid de Souza returned back to the training ground on Monday morning's practice. While Volkan took part in seperate goalkeeping training supervised by coach Angel Ferez, Deivid de Souza practiced with personal trainer Dolu Arslan. Deivid also commenced some light drills with the ball.
Meanwhile, other injured players Gökhan Gönül, Josico Verdu and Alex de Souza continued their treatments and training inside the facilities. Also, before the morning's practice session, some of the players in the squad gave blood samples to a group of nurses from the Acıbadem Hospital for some tests. The rest of the squad will give their blood samples before tomorrow morning's practice which is due to start at the same time, 11:00 AM.
